Localization of QTECH production in Russia

Today, Russian enterprises are successfully implementing the government's import substitution program, gradually reducing the share of foreign products in strategic sectors of the economy. Replacing imported telecommunications and IT equipment with Russian-made equipment is essential for ensuring the information security of government agencies, state-owned companies and state-owned enterprises, as well as the corporate market and telecom operators.
Achieving real technological independence from foreign manufacturers of hardware and software is possible only through the development of its own scientific and production base. That is why manufacturers of telecommunications products should not blindly copy foreign developments, but develop their own original solutions and apply advanced technologies.
The entirely domestic origin of telecommunications equipment includes the localization of production on the territory of the Russian Federation. Localization is a powerful tool for the country's economic growth, allowing it to create new skilled jobs and develop the local infrastructure necessary for the operation of innovative industries.
QTECH: milestones of successful development
QTECH is one of the leading Russian developers and manufacturers of telecommunications and IT equipment. Since its foundation in 2006, the company has been producing high-tech products for the Russian market that can compete on an equal footing with imported equipment.
The new economic realities and the government's policy of import substitution required us to switch to a production cycle with deeper localization in Russia. In order to continue cooperation with companies in the public sector, the corporate market and telecom operators, it became necessary to ensure that the products produced comply with the status of telecommunications equipment of Russian origin (TORP).
We conducted a search for Russian contract companies that meet our requirements, as well as a thorough analysis of their production capacities. As a result, production sites were selected in several cities, equipped with the necessary equipment and capable of producing high-quality products.
The actions performed allowed us to achieve the necessary level of localization of QTECH production in Russia and start the process of obtaining the status of TORP for the line of manufactured equipment. In 2018, the first switches received the status of telecommunications equipment of Russian origin.
QTECH: The impressive realities of 2020
Obtaining the status of TORP was preceded by a lot of work of our specialists: from the registration of operational, design and technological documentation in accordance with the ESCD standards, to the selection of Russian contract production facilities, personnel training, and control of the production process. Only after the successful implementation of the entire set of measures, we prepared an application and submitted to the expert commission the current production for the production of switches.
A new stage in the implementation of the import substitution program was the receipt of a document confirming the Russian origin of the floor and wall telecommunications cabinets of our manufacture. Based on the results of the audit conducted in 2020, the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry issued an Expert Report confirming the compliance of the manufactured products with the requirements, in order to classify them as products manufactured on the territory of the Russian Federation.
For more than 5 years, QTECH telecommunications cabinets have been produced in contract production, in specialized workshops with a high level of workflow automation. At the production sites, high-grade Russian steel and domestic components are used.
Proper organization and strict control of the production process contribute to achieving the best quality of the products produced. The sales volume is 3000 telecommunication cabinets per year.
Since 2020, QTECH has been producing its own line of IP phones in Russia, represented by a variety of models for a wide range of end users. The company has applied for the status of TORP for IP phones, which is expected to be received in 2021. It is planned to produce up to 30,000 telephones per month.
All types of QTECH products manufactured in Russia are worthy competitors to products of well-known world brands.
QTECH: we are looking to the future with optimism
In the near future, we plan to start manufacturing routers, servers, and video cameras in Russia. The necessary base for this already exists - these are production sites that provide installation and soldering of discrete elements, assembly and testing, as well as their own development of hardware and software systems.At QTECH, we believe that the quality and functionality of telecommunications equipment depends not on the country of origin, but on a well-thought-out approach to business and a competent development strategy.
